About the Artist

Li Xingjia was born in 1947 in Tai'an, Shandong. He is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and the Shandong Artists Association, vice-chairman of the China Modern Calligraphers and Painters Association, and chairman of its Mount Tai branch. He completed advanced research at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University.

For decades he has taken Mount Tai as his primary creative subject, finding the spirit of landscape among its peaks, cloud seas, pines, stones and sunrise. His work unifies grand atmosphere with brush-and-ink discipline — a sustained and distinctive artistic vision.
